Our week in IL Borghetto was the highlight of our trip to Italy. When you plan a trip Tuscany IL Borghetto is the place you want to stay.
Simone, Ricardo, Sandra, Nicola and Mama are host that know how to make the trip a time to remember. Their friendliness and helpfulliness made our visit delightful.
IL Borghetto is very convenient to other towns in Tuscany and we hope to return in the future.

Our next door neighbours recommended Il Borghetto to us when we were planning our holiday in Italy. We were late getting to make the booking and were delighted when we could be accomodated. There were four of us (myself, my husband, my brother and his wife). We were more than impressed when we arrived, despite the glowing reviews our neighbours had provided. Everything was better than we had imagined. Our apartment was spacious, beautifully decorated and well outfitted for our comfort. We were well located for our day trips to Cinque Terre, Cortona, Sienna, to wineries and of course nearby San Giminano. (We will see Florence next time!)The grocery store was very handy in Poggibonsi which was great so we didn't have to waste a lot of time on groceries. It must be mentioned how helpful and friendly our hosts were. Sandra, Nicolas, Simona and Ricardo were always available to help us with planning our day trips and to help with anything we needed. It is apparent they love thir work and care about their guests. But the best thing was dinner at the Villa!!!We had two of our all time best meals there. We jsut had to walk out our door and we were there. On the first evening we were able to dine 'al fresco' enjoying the spectacular view while we were treated to our first culinary delight. The second meal was very appropriately on the last evening of our stay. This time we dined in the wine cellar. We had so much fun meeting other guests and listening to Sandra's incredible C.D. while we feasted again on another fabulous meal. What a wonderful way to end our stay. We would stay at Il Borghetto again in a heartbeat and happily recommend it to anyone going to Tuscany.

We just wanted to thank you and Nicola, Ricardo and Simone for making

Dear Sandra, Nicola, Simone, Ricardo and 'Mama',
Dave and I cannot believe we have been home in England almost a week. Our thoughts are still with you all in beautiful Tuscany and we wish we were back at our little table overlooking the gorgeous countryside each evening, drinking another bottle of local red wine!
Just wanted to keep in touch and let you know that we had the most wonderful holiday with you. We cannot express our thanks enough for making us feel so welcome at Il Borghetto, sharing your lovely stories with us, and feeding us with the most delicious food - an extra big thank you to Mama!! The view from our window in Campanina will stay in our memory forever. We feel so lucky that we found such a beautiful place to spend our holiday.
The weather in England has been sunny since our return, so that is good news too! It has not been quite as depressing coming home to some sunshine instead of the usual rain.
Well, once again, many thanks for such a wonderful holiday. We are hoping to return again next year if circumstances allow.

We had the best time ever at Il Borgheto. We immediatly felt home, welcomed by Nicola, Ricardo, Simona and Sandra. The appartment was beautiful, the service was great and the food was the best I've eaten in Italy! But most of all, the view is spectacular. Sitting in the garden I could not read a word in my book, I just kept glazing at the hills, the trees and the blue sky. And last but not least, they all were very sweet to our children. So yes, we will come back!

To our friends at Il Borghetto: we had marvelous time during our visit in late June. This is our second visit to your wonderful villa and this time we brought our grown children and grandchildren. It was great to have the quiet of Il Borghetto to return to after our day trips. Our grandsons especially enjoyed the pool! We adults enjoyed the quiet beauty of Tuscany as seen from the terrace and your property. Dinner on Friday night was outstanding! Thank you so much for your hospitality and we look forward to future visits with you all.

If your idea of heaven is a villa overlooking vineyards and olive groves with only the sound of birdsong, then this is the place for you. The rooms are spacious and clean,the family who own and run the apartments are informative and friendly, the food they sevre three times a week is superb. We stayed a week in May 2009 and our only regret was we had to leave. Should we return to Tuscany we cannot think we would stay anywhere else.

We were a family party of 5 (2 couples and our mother). Il Borghetto was more lovely than we had even hoped - it may be hard to believe but it is more beautiful than the picutres on the website. Our apartment was charming & comfortable and the views from every window and terrace were spectacular. The family who run the villa were both very cordial and profiessional and provided tours, winery and restuarant reservatiosn that were always excellent. Our only regret was leaving. We hope to return some day and enjoy this tranquil and exquisite place again

This villa was perfect in every way. The owners were lovely and very accomadating. It is centrally located and ideal for touring Tuscany. Our apartment was very spacious, clean, and had every amenity. Definetly have the dinner they offer. This is one of the prettiest places I have ever seen.

My Mom and I stayed for a week at Il Borghetto and fell in love with Tuscany. Everything about the property was perfect. No detail was missed inside or out and it was all immaculate! The location was ideal for touring most of Tuscany. The family that owns and operates the property was wonderful and accomodating in every way. Our only regret was we didn't have the Tuscan dinner offered on the property......but I certainly will on my return visit with my husband!

We enjoyed a fabulous week at Il Borghetto. The staff were warm and helpful, the setting postcard perfect, and the villa itself comfortable, beautifully restored and tastefully decorated. We spent our week exploring the gorgeous Tuscan countryside, cooking delicious meals in our apartment, savouring the delicious wines and gorgeous views....heaven!

We stayed at Il Borghetto over the Easter holidays this year and it was more than we could have asked for. Upon arriving, the staff was incredibly helpful, greeted us with a smile and made us feel welcome and at home. I forgot a converter plug and was in need of one, so they lent me a plug as well as a Tuscany guidebook to borrow for the week, to make our stay as comfortable as possible.
We opted to have dinner that night at Il Borghetto, and honestly, it was the best meal we had our ENTIRE stay (one week), despite going to various cities in search of good Italian food! Our apartment was very spacious, comfortable and well fitted for the time that we were there. The town of San Gimingano was walkable, or a short drive, which made it very easy to get to for a quick snack or shop.
All in all, we had a fantastic stay and would recommend this to anyone interested in a genuine, Tuscan holiday vacation! I will go back again and have already recommended it to my family and friends.

If you stay here and do not speak poetically of your Tuscan experience, your heart is a stone. Set among pillowy hills, undulating vineyards, pale olive groves, wrapped in morning mist, bathed in golden dusk, a welcoming home, graciously restored as a labour of love. The warmth of the Bimbi family suffuses every detail and service. You will be welcomed as friends and cared for as special guests.The views are living paintings, the pool an oasis at the end of a day in enchanting San Gimignano, the rooms tasteful and practical, the meals, should you be astute enough to book a table overlooking poplar-lined ridges and distant villas, authentic and filling and delicious! Everyone we have brought here has been utterly charmed, has fallen in love with the place, the people, the food, the wine...
One of the featured wines we savoured with a perfect dinner on the patio was called "Paradiso", and staying at Il Borghetto may be the nearest thing to heaven you could experience in this lifetime!

We enjoyed our first two week holidays at IlBorghetto in 2007 so much that we returned for three weeks in 2008.We felt so confident about the house ,the setting and most of all our hosts that we felt able to invite two other families to come out and join us.
Nicola and Riccardo greet you as you arrive with smiles and handshakes as if you are old friends .Sandra and Simone look after your every need and then there is Sandra's mum who produces the most fabulous food for you on the terrace.
The house is wonderful.Every apartment is different.Each has its own very distinct style and atmosphere and all beautifully decorated.
The grounds are also wonderful.Simply laid out gardens full of the healthiest olive trees around.Nicola tends the trees every day .They are clearly cherished and provide a superb backdrop for the house.
The villa may be but a few minutes drive from San Gimignano, which houses some wonderful art and museums, yet IlBorghetto nestles into the Tuscan hillside seemingly removed from the hurley burley of modern Italain life;down an agricultural track with views over the tuscan hillside
The pool is a great size
and wonderfully maintained .A great spot for just lounging or some serious exercise.
We were truly sorry to leave IlBorgehtto .It is a very special place with very special people.

How to describe Il Borghetto is an extremely difficult task...saying "it is a sliver of heaven" seems trite. The Tuscan hospitality leaves you yearning to not return home. Ricardo and Nicola eagerly greet you to show you to your lovely apartment and Sandra and Simona make sure that you are comfortable in your surroundings. On three evenings of the week, you are treated to the most delicious of Tuscan dining, all prepared by Sandra's mother and served on the terrace overlooking the rolling countryside. Writing this review makes me wish my next planned visit to Il Borghetto was tomorrow! Ciao...

I have visited Italy twice in the last two years and both times stayed at Il Borghetto. I first visited with my significant other and was so charmed by the place, I brought my parents the following year. Both times were equally spectacular. The Bimbi family owns a very lovely property with views so beautiful I cannot begin describe them. The service here is excellent - Simona, Ricardo, Sandra and Nicola are wonderful people. Helpful, thoughtful and just plain nice. They are a BIG part of the charm of this place. I had some delicious meals at Il Borghetto and would recommend having one of their home-cooked meals at least once. The location of the property was also ideal as it was a great jumping off point for day trips and still close to Florence.
I'm so glad to have discovered this gem - I hope to return soon!

The views from the windows of the villas are breathtaking and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee you will sip from your very own veranda will make you feel like you've died and gone to heaven.
The peaceful surroundings, the beauty of the countryside, the amazing clouds and sunrises that fill your villa with lush light will only add to your adventure.
Then, there are your hosts, The Bimbi Family...They will make you feel more than welcome, comfortable and provide you with endless information and ideas for outings and history lessons of the area.
Centrally located between Florence and Siena, two beautiful towns in their own right, your visit to Il Borghetto and the nearby hill town of San Gimignano will leave you wanting more.
I have been three times in the last four years and am planning my next trip later this summer. In 2004 I arrived at the gates of Il Borghetto laden with fresh pasta, pesto, Tuscan rosemary bread, proscuitto, mozzarella and of course red wine all bought in the market. I was full of hope and longing for a healing Italian experience. When I think of that time I remember the warmth of the welcome from Simona, Sandra, Nicola, Riccardo, the smells (oh the smells) of lavendar, rosemary and olive trees , the grapes hanging on the vines, the mist rising over the Tuscan countryside below and the stunning architecture, rich colours and the inviting, tasteful accomodations of Il Borghetto. And I cannot overlook the bells of San Gimignano calling out. The day trips to Firenze, Sienna, Chianti and the nights trips into San Gimignano for my daily gelato.
I returned in 2008 with family and friends eager to introduce them to my Italian family so they too could experience the warmth, smells, sounds, and sights that is Il Borghetto and Tuscany. Laughter, food, wine, more gelato and most of all calm and peace. I have found my oasis filled with lavendar. Looking forward to 2010 to return.

We wanted to write a short note to say a very sincere thank you for making our
trip to Italy so wonderful.
We have been to Italy twice, travelling from south to north, east to west,
and our stay at Il Borghetto has been the highlight of both of our trips.
Your kindness and hospitality made us feel as if Tuscany was our home, if
only for a week, and we were truly sad to say goodbye to all of you. The
experience you provide at Il Borghetto is exactly what we in North America
dream of experiencing when we travel to Italy - a beautiful farmhouse in the
Tuscan countryside that is, most importantly, hosted by extraordinary
Italians who want to share their country with guests. We could not have
asked for a better location, both in terms of convenience and beauty. And
the meals we shared with you were without question the best of our trip.
