Just returned from our fantastic week at Il Borghetto. Friendly family, fantastic location and the food was simply fantastic too. Our only regret - we forgot to buy one of Sandra's albums before we departed! Booking again very soon and Fin hasn't taken his Italia T-Shirt off yet - not sure he will until we do book.

WE RETURNED HOME FROM IL BORGHETTO WITH THE MOST WONDERFUL MEMORIES. FOR US, IT WAS A DREAM TRIP COME TRUE AND ONE WE WISH WE HAD UNDERTAKEN YEARS AGO. LIKE US, OUR ADULT CHILDREN, INCLUDING OUR ITALIAN SON-IN-LAW, SIMPLY LOVED IL BORGHETTO AND VOWED TO RETURN. WE ARE CONFIDENT THEY WILL DO SO AS WILL WE AT SOME POINT. IT IS SIMPLY IMPOSSIBLE NOT TO WANT TO RETURN! YOU HAVE RESTORED THE VILLA ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFULLY. WE LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT IT - THE COLORS AND DECOR OF OUR APARTMENT, AS WELL AS THE OTHER APARTMENTS WE SAW, THE GORGEOUS VIEWS, THE OUTDOOR AND INDOOR EATING AREAS, THE VINEYARDS, AND, OF COURSE, SAN GIMIGAGNO ITSELF. BUT, MOST IMPORTANTLY, WE THOROUGHLY ENJOYED GETTING TO KNOW ALL OF YOU, THE LOVELY OWNERS, THOUGH WE WISH WE COULD HAVE CHATTED A LITTLE MORE WITH YOU. THAT SAID, WE KNOW FULL WELL HOW BUSY YOU WERE TAKING SUCH GOOD CARE OF ALL YOUR GUESTS AND MAKING THEM FEEL AS COMFORTABLE AS IF THEY WERE AT HOME. WE ARE SO HAPPY THAT WE CHOSE TO STAY THE FULL THREE WEEKS (AND ONE EXTRA DAY!) IN ORDER TO TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE OF BOTH IL BORGHETTO AND ITS EXQUISITE SURROUNDINGS. IT WAS THE RIGHT DECISION FOR US. WE DID NOT HAVE TO BE ON THE MOVE EVERY DAY TO ENSURE WE WOULD SEE ALL THE SIGHTS BUT COULD ALSO JUST TAKE IT EASY - WE STILL MISSED A FEW PLACES OF INTEREST BUT THEY WILL HAVE TO BE COVERED DURING OUR NEXT VISIT! OF COURSE, WE CANNOT FORGET THE MUSICAL EVENING SANDRA ARRANGED! IT WAS SO MUCH FUN AND WE EVEN GOT A LITTLE DANCING SQUEEZED IN. WE LOVED EVERY MOMENT OF THAT SPECIAL EVENING AND ARE SO VERY PLEASED THAT WE WERE THERE FOR SANDRA'S LAST PERFORMANCE OF THE SEASON. THANK YOU SANDRA! BOTH VANESSA AND WE ARE PLAYING YOUR CD WHICH BRINGS BACK SUCH SWEET MEMORIES! NOW TO SILVANA'S CULINARY SKILLS: SILVANA, AS WE SAID IN OUR BROKEN, OR RATHER NON-EXISTING, ITALIAN (!), ALL OF YOUR MEALS WERE SIMPLY FANTASTIC! WE ENJOYED EVERY ONE OF THEM THOROUGHLY AND SO WISH WE HAD ASKED FOR MORE RECIPES...THE MEALS WERE BEAUTIFULLY PRESENTED, THE MENUS WERE BALANCED, AND THE PASTA NEVER FELT HEAVY. ON THE CONTRARY, THE PASTA FELT LIGHT! (HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?!!) WE HAVE NEVER EATEN SUCH A DELICIOUS VEGETABLE LASAGNA, FOR EXAMPLE. IT JUST MELTED IN OUR MOUTHS. SILVANA, YOU ARE A FANTASTIC COOK!! BY THE WAY, WE HAVE 'MARKETED' IL BORGHETTO IN GLOWING DESCRIPTIONS TO MANY OF OUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY AND FEEL CONFIDENT THAT SOME OF THEM UNDOUBTEDLY WILL STAY AT IL BORGHETTO AT SOME TIME IN THE FUTURE! We have returned to the "real world" after being in Paradise. We were so glad to see family and friends again but miss so very much the friendliness and hospitality of the Italian people. Our stay at your villa, Il Borghetto, was unforgettable. We have many pictures to prove the incredible beauty of the villa itself and the surrounding countryside. Your attention to detail in each of the apartments that we were able to view during our stay was incredible. Much to my husbands dismay, I am feeling that I need to redecorate my entire house. The only problem being that there is no way that I could duplicate the fabulous views seen from each and every window. It was wonderful to get to know all of you and to look at the scrapbook of the journey that you have taken in producing such an excellent retreat. It was a labour of love and it shows in every aspect. Thank you to Mama for the delicious meals that we had the privilege to taste. I will try my best to reproduce some of the recipes but it will be impossible to be as good. Sandra, we listened to your CD on our way to Pescara and it made traveling through the mountains even more enjoyable. Hearing your beautiful voice while looking at the incredible mountain vistas was soothing and relaxing. We will miss you all and look forward to hopefully returning someday. Best of luck in your future. We have told all of our friends and family about Il Borghetto and I am sure that you will be getting more New Brunswickers as guests. We just arrived back in COlorado and were looking at our holiday photographs and also at your DVD about Il BOrghetto. We want to let all of you know how much we enjoyed our stay at your beautiful place, we loved our apartment, especially being able to sit outside on the patio and look over the country side. THe dinners were delicious and are a fond memory of our stay. Your place will certainly be recommended to everyone who we know to travel to Tuscany and we hope to be able to visit again some time. Also, in watching the DVD - you all must have been soooo optimistic to undertake such a project, I cannot believe that I would have been brave enough to do this, it is absolutely amazing what you all made of this place it turned out so beautiful!! This is incredibly belated but my husband and I were just reminiscing about our wonderful stay at Il Borghetto and lamenting that I could not find a pair of boots of the quality I purchased in Poggibonsi! We felt so much at home with our wonderful hosts and relaxing by the pool or taking a leisurely walk into San Gimignano. How funny it was that we walked the streets of Poggibonsi trying to find the bus stop to Siena, and managing to find a lovely young gentleman who happened, by chance, to have an Australian bride! He shared his story with us on the ride into Siena, sharing history and his local expertise. Thank you Sandra, Simona, Nicola and Riccardo for allowing us to share your villa. You were the most hospitable hosts and our memories of our time in Tuscany will live forever. We will return to enjoy the comforts of our Italian "home". Thank you for the beautiful memories :).

This past June, 8 of us in 2 apts had a wonderful week at this special place. The scenery is drop dead gorgeous. We ate all 3 dinners offered and I think it was the best food we had in Italy. Nicola selected our wine for us. Sandra arranged a taxi to take us to Florence for the day. That was a godsend because none of the men in our group are good on foreign roads even with GPS. Sandra also arranged a castle and wine tour and a balloon ride for us. There is a winery nearby that had wonderful wine. There is an easy to find PAM grocery store a few miles away. Wonderful San Gimignano is nearby. If you are thinking about staying here, you will not be disappointed!
