It is possible to reach il Borghetto by CAR renting it at the nearest airports of Florence or Pisa, or in Florence at Borgognissanti (Avis, Europcar, Hertz). As other option it is possible to reach il Borghetto by TRAIN. The nearest train station is Poggibonsi-San Gimignano, which is 10 minutes drive from Il Borghetto. In Poggibonsi there is the taxi service. For those who do not like driving the car, it is possible to organize transfers with a private driver (services to be booked in advance). A large free private parking is available on the property.

Yes, in San Gimignano you can rent  car, scooter and  bike, as road bike or mountain bike or electric bike, these are  services to be booked in advance, or also here directly, depending on availability. We provide all the contacts of the bike, scooter and car  rentals. The requested bike is delivered here at the property and for the car we have a renter who comes directly here to make the contract and takes the guests to pick up the car. Tuscany offers a varied landscape made up of flat areas that alternate with hills and has a very high number of bicycle and scooter enthusiasts who travel along the asphalted or dirt roads to get to know the most beautiful and hidden views of this region.

Of course this is possible during the day. It takes 45 minutes walking along one of the most beautiful scenic gravel roads of the area, with the best view of the Tuscan countryside surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, cypresses, ancient trees, farmhouses. Along the path there is always the view of the  medieval town of San Gimignano with its towers. They rise from the  houses visible in the distance and have given the city the name of the “Manhattan of Tuscany”. Thanks to this exceptional medieval architecture it is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Yes, it is possible to have an Italian breakfast at Borghetto with fragrant croissants and freshly baked bread from the local bakery in the morning, and as drinks  cappuccino, espresso, tea or hot or cold drink. Breakfast is served on the panoramic terrace or in the apartment. On request, fresh bread can be ordered to be taken in the apartments. For 3 nights a week we serve dinner with our Mum's traditional Tuscan dishes on the panoramic terrace or in the cellars of the Villa. For those who love to cook, all the apartments offer the comfort of equipped kitchens to be able to organize independently the various meals. It is possible to do cooking classes here and learn the dishes of Tuscan cuisine including homemade pasta.

Just 6 km from Il Borghetto is a well-stocked supermarket open 7 days a week from 8 am to 8 pm. 5 km from here there are the shops with local products of the area such as the cheese factory which  produces excellent pecorino cheeses and many other varieties of dairy products, there is the butcher shop where you can find the typical Tuscan cold cuts such as ham, salami, wild boar salami, pork. In San Gimignano there are many local handicraft shops such as ceramics, leather goods and handicraft goldsmiths.

It is possible to organize and book tours, wine tasting and various activities directly from our office. We are here to give suggestions, maps, things to do and see, parking places, activities for children, we book restaurants and museums. Not to be  missed during a stay at Il Borghetto are the visits of San Gimignano and Volterra, the Chianti area with its wines and the medieval villages of Castellina, Radda, Greve. And then Siena with the Duomo and Piazza del Campo, Monteriggioni. The city of Florence, the cradle of the renaissance, is easily accessible by parking the car outside the city and taking the tram that leads directly into the city center.
